The quiet town of Nkporo in Ohafia Local Government came alive yesterday as one of the strongest and most loved grassroot mobilizers in Not just Nkporo but Ohafia Local Government Area and the pioneer General Manager of Abia State Road Maintenance Agency, Engr. Prince Henry Ndukwe Orji Agu dumped PDP and joined APC.

The women, men and youths of Nkporo trooped out in their numbers to herald this move which has certainly changed the dynamics of Ohafia politics.

The former Governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu was among the top dignitaries who were on ground to welcome the former National Convener of one of the most formidable campaigns structures of Atiku Abubarkar.

Speaking to our Correspondent after the event, Prince Ndukwe Sited reasons why he made this surprise move such as the refusal of the Party (PDP) to register him, his ward chairman and other members of his community during the last revalidation exercise an action he alleged to be at the instance of the deputy Governor.

In his words, “I have gone to a party that needs members and where I and my people are wanted. I can’t continue being in a party that refused to revalidate my membership because someone says so, and I can’t continue working for a Presidential candidate in a party I am not a card carrying member”.

The former ABROMA boss decried the level impunity happening within the Abia state Chapter of the PDP, stating that 2019 general elections will be a litmus test of who actually is at home with the people.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion include the former Governor of Abia State and APC Senatorial Candidate for Abia North, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, APC flagbearer for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Nnamdi Iro Orji, Representative of Dr. uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, APC flagbearer of Ohafia South State Constituency, Dr. Kalu Uka Orji, Ohafia APC deputy Chairman, Prince Agwu Orji, among several other dignitaries!
