Following the official resignation of the Chief Judge, Walter Onnoghen and the withdrawal of the litigation against him, the acting Chief Judge, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, seems to have found his footing.
As the tribunals are about to commence hearing of elections petitions, the Acting Chief Judge has warned the tribunal judges to discharge their duties with utmost diligence and the fear of God.
He said, “Anybody that knows he won election by rigging should excuse himself before we disgrace him judiciously”.
“Is better we do justice and inherit the kingdom of heaven than to align with political criminals and lose our integrity and be condemn hereafter by God”.
“I have warned judges handling election cases, I will monitor them, where I’m not, God would be their watching”.
