An Abian, Chukwuemeka Nwosu MD Ph D, from Amachara, Umuopara, Umuahia South LGA, residing in Maryland USA has donated 134 pair of quality made in Aba shoes to students of Ezeleke school.

In a message sent to newsmen by the donor, he says :

“a picture speaks a thousand words. Upon viewing pictures I took with students, My wife noticed that the pictures showing most of the students were not wearing shoes. So she came up with the idea to have shoes made for the students.

“Initially, we planned on making the shoes for children without shoes but our son inspired us to change the plan to make the shoes for every student from Primary 2 to 5 this time and work on the younger ones at a later date.

“We could have purchased the shoes in the US and ship them, however, as a part of our effort, we wanted to help the economy where we could and provide work for our people here. If there are local quality business why not consider them for use?

“So after research and advice we decided to have the shoes made in Aba.

“I teamed up with my friend Felix Onyegbule who arranged for Shoe Maker, Joseph Ani. Both went to the school to take student measurements and will assist in the delivery and distribution of the shoes to the students.

Former Head Mistress, Uwaoma was receptive to the idea and provided me with information to start the process and after retiring ,she was essential in helping me get into contact with Mrs. Ukaigwe, current Head Mistress.  She has been very receptive and instrumental in scheduling Felix Onyegbule and Joseph Ani concerning measurement, delivery, distribution among other things helpful for this effort .

“God has blessed this effort. Although, it has required hard work by numerous people ,it is a thing of joy to have this task accomplished. I encourage those who are in a position, to use local businesses for their philanthropic drives. It is a win, win situation.

Thus today, as is evident in the pictures accompanying this publication, each of the pupils of Ezeleke Primary school Umuopara, in line with the vision of the donor, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwosu, got a brand new shoe.

The pupils where elated at this rare gesture extended to them by Dr. Nwosu and had one word of prayer or the other for him.
