The Youth Is the bedrock and foundation of every society. The future and every meaningful development any society can achieve revolves around the progress and sophistication of the youth population. Thus any nation that wants to experience a rapid development must consciously prioritize the welfare and education of the youth population!

Today, as the World celebrates International Youth day, Governments both at federal, state and local councils should look inwards to ensure that policies they pursue and in tandem with global practices which prioritizes the interest of the youths.

Government should ensure that the youths, as Leaders of today are properly integrated into Governance by appointing and aiding them to be elected into positions of trust as that is the only way to ensure they are nurtured for the leadership they must take up in no distance time in order to avoid leadership vacuum in future.

As youths we should shun all manner of vices and focus on virtues that will endear us to the heart of not justeaders of today but the masses as that is the only way to gain their trust and confidence.

On behalf of the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Abia State chapter we hereby commend the Governor of Abia state Dr. Victor Okezie Ikpeazu for finding many Abia Youths worthy to be appointed into leadership positions in his first administration. We also urge him to increase the tempo as their are innumerable talents and potentials awaiting to be tapped.

I congratulate all Abia Youths across the world and urge us to persevere in our pursuit of noble goals and success as that future we are promised is now.

Build the Youth… Build the Nation!

    Comrade Engr. Smith Sylvanus
Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria Abia State chapter
