The games arena of Ibeku High School Umuahia came alive yesterday as the Prof. Gregory Ibe, Education Intervention Scheme was flagged off for Abia Central Senatorial zone has been flagged off.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at Ibeku High school in Umuahia the Abia State capital on Thursday the Director General Gregory Iyke Foundation Chief Emeka Okafor, said Ibe, embarked on the project to reduce the burden in training the students by their parents.
He explained that the project are in four stages including the distribution of exercise books,
distribution of text books
Scholarship to students and online entrepreneurship program to tutored Prof Gregory Ibe himself.
He said, “The online entrepreneurship program is where our principal will be teaching Abians and the whole world what the secrets of his success as director of “skill-G” a company that is building laboratories in all the Universities in Nigeria.
“He is doing this project to support parents to train their children and
also encourage students to shun cultism and study hard while in school.
“I want all of you students to take time read the brief story of our principal and it will help you to understand that he succeeded through hard work.
“He started as an entrepreneur even as student, so I encourage you to acquire a skill while schooling in order to become an employer of labour after school.
“The foundation you are laying for yourself by going to school now is best because you will ripe the fruits of your labour in the future.
“It’s a thief that will to ripe without planting, but everyone who wants to have a lasting success must follow the principle of planting before riping”.
He urged the students and all Abians to pray for Ibe, to succeed in his aspirations to govern Abia State.
“Our Principal is a consultant to 15 Ecowas countries and the United Nations, helping them to develop their economy, and that’s what he will bring on board to Abia State to develop the state if elected as the governor”, he added.
