Prof Augustine Uwakwe of Gregory University To Present The Olumbe Basir Lecture of The Nigerian Society of Biochemistry And Molecular Biology


Gregory University Uturu from inception has shown its commitment and preparedness in revitalizing the education system in Nigeria.

The institution has achieved enormous feat since it started in 2012 which gained its recommendation as one of the fastest growing private universities in Nigeria by Professor Abubakar Rashers.


Again, the University was the first private university to be accredited to offer a six year course leading to the award of Pharm.D in pharmacy. This is just to mention but a few.

Consequently, the Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Professor Augustine Uwakwe has been appointed to give the famous “OLUMBE BASSIR LECTURE” of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

According to Professor Uwakwe, “It is with great joy that I announce to you that your VC has been nominated to present the famous Olumbe Basir’s lecture of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular.” It’s all happening in a quick succession, he added.

Prof Uwakwe, while thanking God for making him achieve this feat, expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor whom God has used to establish this great citadel of learning and prayed to God to help him achieve his numerous ambitions.
You can recall that the Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu last week was conferred with the 2019/2020 National Productivity Order of Merit Award for his Productive Impact in Gregory University Uturu.

In conclusion, the PRO of Gregory University Uturu – Mrs. Ugo Karen Ibeawuchi, expressed her gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and thank God for His enablement; adding that Gregory University Uturu is set to touch and impact not only GUU and its environs, but also Nigeria at large; setting the pace for a lasting progressive education in Nigeria.
