A pro-Democracy group known as One Destiny Organisation (ODO) has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke on his declaration as the winner of the Governorship in Osun State.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Ohiri O. Lewis, and made available to the media, the group posited that the recent development in Osun State where Sen. Adeleke defeated an incumbent governor in a keenly contested election underscores a sufficient improvement in the electoral system courtesy of the sanity entrenched by the 2022 Amended Electoral Act and other technological measures lawfully introduced by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that votes count in Nigerian elections.
Describing Davido as a personal friend, Ohiri said Senator Ademola Adeleke and entire Adeleke family demonstrated strong character and capacity which endured them to Osun electorate.
“I am happy for Senator Ademola Adeleke and the entire Adeleke family especially my good friend, Davido, for showing strong character, capacity and unity of purpose which to a very large extend made the people of Ekiti to believe in them.
We, in One Desity Organisation (ODO) heartily congratulates the winner and the good people of Osun State for electing the governor of their choice.
We commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for sanitizing the electoral system with welk-thought-out technological innovations that have sufficiently restored hope and credibility in our electoral system”, the group posited.
Ohiri further admonished the incoming governor to close ranks with other stakeholders including his opponents to ensure that dividends of democracy are served to the people of Osun State as promised during his campaigns.
He also urged Nigerians to hinge their choices of candidates on character, competence and capacity of individual candidates rather than party to ensure that only credible candidates are elected to lead Nigerians at different levels in 2023.
